The Sheffield Docfest is over for another year...

Hi everyone,

We've just about recovered from the madness of Sheffield. Between impromptu ice cream stands, late night drinking in noisy bars and the decadent glamour of Lost Vagueness (as well as lots of great films and sessions of course) we got a little lost and vague ourselves.

Black Gold was showing, and its directors Marc and Nick Francis were there, deep on the publicity trail. They were at the festival last year talking about the film when it was still being edited, so it's great to see them back with the finished thing - and it went down a treat. You can read a review of it  here on DFGdocs.

It was great getting to see some of you too. Without sounding too media darling, we MUST do it again sometime (and we will - watch this space).

Over the coming days, weeks - and possibly months - we'll be posting up reviews of some of the films we managed to catch, both at Sheffield and at the London Film Festival, but if you were there and fancy joining in the conversation, then please do!

What were your highlights? Post them here and we'll draw some kind of poll together for next week.

The festival melee is not quite over yet - there's the Real to Reel festival happening this week at the Cine Lumiere, and we've got a great deal for members going on so it's worth checking that out...

Until next week...

About DFGattheMovies

Here at DFG we often get the chance to visit great film festivals, or see cool films a little bit earlier than other folk. When we do, we just can't help sharing our good fortune with you. First up - the Times BFI 50th London Film Festival!
